Hope in the Light of Darkness

Summer Staycation

Passport Atlanta Summer Staycation 2020 was an experience designed to allow a small group of Atlanta students to enjoy their summer even in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

These students had the opportunity to visit historic Atlanta landmarks on private, guided tours and meet some of Atlanta’s influential leaders.

The students also participated in the development of the Passport Atlanta app. Working with our partner, Dragon Army, the students were essential in developing the app's UI and UX. The MVP (minimum viable product) will launch this winter.

The result is what you will find as you navigate this page.

Our society is on pause, but the technology we are developing will power progress when our world can play again.

I can further the legacy of John Lewis by speaking out to the voices of the youth. So when they get older they already have a good mindset on what they want and what they know about equality.  Because if you say things to the youth, they’re going to grow up and keep that same mindset, but you teach them the right things and they will use their voice and to further John Lewis’s legacy like we are doing here, today.

“ If a child grows up seeing images of strong black figures, how does that affect that the child? It is empowering.
